Not A Smosh Fan 
I feel like you're a fan of Smosh, till you actually get to know the cast and then you quickly dislike everyone except Damien and Shane. See I was never a fan of Smosh in the past, my sister watched them and some friends I had growing up LOVED them. As far as I knew about Smosh at that time, they were just people who made the try not to laugh videos, which were never my thing. Their humour was very childish. Poop jokes… believe it or not… not funny.
But anyway, recently this year I had Smosh shoved down my throat on YouTube, it started with some of the Reddit videos. While I again didn't realise Smosh did other content, I went through a lot of my life believing all they did was try not to laugh videos. So I was pleasantly surprised to find they actually did a bunch of other content. I didn't mind the Reddit read videos because I watch a lot of other videos that are similar by other content creators. It's probably why YouTube placed them in my feed to begin with. But then it started showing me some of their other content, and I grew to really like their culinary crimes videos. If you know me I really enjoy watching content around cooking and food in general. I was someone who grew up with Gordon Ramsay, The Great British bake off, that one guy called guy show that I always mess up the title of and so on.
I love food content, so I really liked their culinary crimes videos and actively watched a tonne of them as background noise. Along with a couple other videos that would automatically play. However, the more I watched their content around Reddit… I grew to quickly dislike a lot of the cast, this making their other content no longer enjoyable. A lot of the cast have really, really bad takes and I dislike that Shane never challenged anyone on any of their takes, even though you could clearly tell he didn't agree. But for the sake of keeping the peace and not challenging anyone he would just nod along. I don't like that, as a host you should challenge people's takes and I'm sorry but recording live isn't a valid excuse for me, because the things said were people's unfiltered thoughts and showed their true personality.
I also found out about a video to do with a series they had called agree to disagree through someone else who brought up the issues with that video. Why Smosh thought it was a good idea to post it when it makes their cast look terrible. The video really made me dislike so much of the cast except for Damian. Damian is the one person that I still like, he has a Brain and he actually uses it and tries to be reflective and understand perspectives. In Reddit stories sometimes i might not agree with his takes but he isn't outrageous with his takes and admits sometimes he feels there isn't enough information and even elaborates on how his opinion would change depending on certain factors if those were revealed. Also Damian does challenge his fellow cast members, which I love because everyone else fucken doesn't. Damian isn't perfect but god is he the one light in Smosh.
Shane's ok, but him not challenging his fellow cast members makes him look bad. I don't like people who are fine with echo chambers to keep the peace, rather than actually create a meaningful discussion even if it means creating potential discourse. Cause at least you stayed true to yourself rather than rolling over and being docile.
Anyway, the video that came out was about cheating, the question asked was “if one of your friends cheated on their partner would you stop being friends with them” literally only Damian and one other guy said yeah, they would stop being friends with someone who cheated on their partner. EVERYONE ELSE HOWEVER said they would remain friends with a cheater, one even bragging about how he is currently friends with a whole bunch of cheaters (I never liked that guy from the start though, he doesn't exactly hide that he's a shitty guy). I was honestly surprised by Angela, I thought she would be on the same side as Damian based on in the past a lot of her takes on cheating were clear that cheating is bad. So I was shocked by her.
But yeah they tried to make it out that you don't know people's circumstances or what goes on behind closed doors. Angela tried to pull something about saying how she likes to think she surrounds herself with empathetic people. Which I found so fun because Damian used her own line against her saying he thought he had done the same, but that he's disappointed in the cast and had expected better of them and thinks they need to do some more soul searching. I was like yesss get Their asses Damian.
But yeah I think it goes without saying… Cheating is bad regardless of your relationship and what it's like. If your relationship is so shitty you need to cheat… BREAKUP, JUST BREAK UP, OMG. Then fuck whoever you want after that.
To make it worse I found out Damian himself had been cheated on and all of the cast knew and had previously been friends with the person who had cheated on him. But yeah I liked Smosh for like 2 weeks and then hated them again. I would say I don't see how people could like them, but I guess if you never come across their actual bad sides then it makes sense you'd still like them. But I don't know how you could like them AND be aware of how shit they are.
Also one of them makes it like this big deal that she hates animals. Like girl stop being edgy, no one likes an animal hater.
But yeah that's my hot take on Smosh. They suck, except Damian. We love Damian in this household, the real woke king in a house of false woke kings.
